The answers I give before signing.
14 questions asked by tradespeople, in the words they were asked in. If yours is missing, write to me: the answer comes back the same day and joins this page.
Contract and ownership
Who owns the site if I stop the subscription?
The domain name and your content are yours unconditionally. When the subscription ends I hand over a full backup of the site and transfer the domain to the host of your choice. I do not charge for that transfer.
Why a subscription rather than buying outright?
A site paid for once ages on its own: no more updates, no more security, nobody left to change a phone number. The setup fee, from €490 and payable in two instalments, replaces the thousands of euros asked elsewhere, and the subscription keeps the site maintained for as long as you use it.
How long is the commitment?
Twelve months, then month by month with 30 days' notice. The price you signed is locked for twenty-four months.
Can I edit the site myself?
Yes, for copy, photos and opening hours, through a simple interface and a one-hour training session. For everything else, a message is enough: edits are included in the subscription.
Timescales and process
How long until the site is live?
10 days in the usual case: scoping call, design on the fifth day, changes, live forty-eight hours after your approval. The timeline depends mostly on how quickly you can approve.
How much of my time does it take?
Two hours in total: twenty minutes on the scoping call, half a day shared with the photographer on a job, and one read-through of the design. The rest happens without you.
I have no photos and no copy. Is that a problem?
No. I write the copy from the scoping call and arrange a photo session on one of your jobs. It is included in the Growth and Acquisition plans.
Results and visibility
How long before I show up on Google?
A Business Profile can climb within a few weeks. Organic ranking on « roofer » plus your town takes three to six months. Google Ads brings enquiries from day one. It is usually the combination of the three that works.
Do you guarantee first position?
No, and nobody can guarantee it honestly: the ranking is Google's to decide. I commit to the work done and to monthly tracking of your positions, not to a place I do not control.
How will I know whether it is working?
A one-page report every month: number of visits, calls and quote requests, rankings on your keywords, and what I am changing next month. The only figure that matters is the number of enquiries received.
Practical questions
Do you work with clients outside France?
Yes, and it is a good part of what I do: Luxembourg, Switzerland, Belgium, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar. Sites are produced in French, English, Arabic or Spanish depending on your customers, and invoicing outside France is handled on my side.
Do I need to travel to you?
No. Everything happens remotely: video calls, approvals on a shared screen, follow-up in writing or on WhatsApp. A good share of my clients are abroad, and it has never held a project up.
Do you take over an existing site?
Often, yes: I keep what works, in particular the age of the domain, and rebuild the structure, the copy and the speed. I only start from scratch when the site is technically beyond saving.
Do you ever turn projects down?
Yes, when what you are asking for will not serve your business, or when a simple fix to your Google profile would be enough. I say so during the scoping call, before any quote.
